A garden bounty

Today is Thanksgiving and one of the many things I am thankful for this year is the opportunity I had to do a little gardening. In late summer, I adopted some garden bins and began the hard work to clear them out and replant. Lettuces, radishes, beets, carrots, greens, strawberries, broccoli, sage, thyme and oregano...mostly from seed but supplemented by a few plant starts from Cityslicker Farms.

The late start and the cool summer certainly didn't give me much hope for a harvest, but patience paid off. For about two weeks straight now, we've enjoyed a pretty steady garden-to-table routine. Sage for butternut squash pasta, thyme for roasted potatoes and lettuce and radishes for salad. Yum!
