My friend Arlen has had a crush on Brad Pitt for as long as I've known her. This fact made me feel a bit guilty this evening as we stood outside the beautiful Paramount Theater in Oakland waiting for him to appear. Tonight was the Moneyball Movie Premier. If you don't know the story...the movie's based on a book about how Oakland A's General Manager, Billy Beane, used data, analysis and statistics (sabermetrics) to turn a revenue-disadvantaged team into a winning club.
I've never been a big fan of baseball, and I don't have the hots for Brad Pitt, though I do appreciate his good works and his points of view on gay marriage and paying taxes...
...but Brad Pitt...in downtown OAKLAND? I simply couldn't miss this rare event.
No doubt many people snapped better photos (in fact, here are some), but considering I had only a mobile phone in hand, I think I did OK. It's him...I promise you.
