It's been a productive weekend, but in small and not so visual ways. Inspections and finishing the drywall mudding and sanding have slowed things down a bit, but we should be on track for a mostly finished kitchen when we move in 9 days from now... It's going to be a very busy week with multiple contractors finishing up or installing the last pieces. By the end of the week we should have a repainted ceiling downstairs, new bamboo flooring on the stairs, refinished concrete floors, downstairs walls ready for paint, all excess building materials and tools removed and maybe even some more kitchen cabinets installed...
Meanwhile, Patti has been busy learning more about the neighborhood and getting us vegetables from a local community garden! She's also got the moving details under control, we have internet and TV cable ordered, artwork moved to temporary storage at my office and boxes piling up ready for movers.
Here are few shots of progress at the house:
Kitchen walls need just one more coat.
Upstairs bath plumbing and framing all approved and ready for the floor and walls to be closed up.
Ceiling prepared and ready for installation of 4" steel I-Beam.
Wall prepped for a special built in bath closet for all of Patti's goodies.
Laundry closet walls covered with first coat of mud.
Me thinks that this is a fair amount for one weekend!
