It's Saturday. A dark and rainy Saturday that started with thunderstorms. Perfectly suited for making some solid progress on our to do list. The electrical in the kitchen was approved yesterday, so John intends to focus on the next steps at the house while I direct my attention to all the reclaimed stuff that's been patiently waiting in the shop for a makeover.
...starting with the lockers. I use some elbow grease and an electric drill with a cup brush to grind off paint revealing a wonderful silver sheen. The work is tedious...I barely made a dent in the project today.
However, these beauties are all ready to go--bleacher seats reclaimed from Sonoma Valley High School. John and I carefully picked through piles looking for the ones with the most carvings...for character! I have no idea how many gobs of gum I scraped off, but they now sit clean and ready for their next life as shelving in the office/bedroom.
To support the shelves we found these wooden spool from the Sunset Line & Twine Factory in Petaluma.
And finally, Dave took charge of scrubbing down the steel I-beams that will support some of the upstairs bathroom features.
