"Someone killed our tree!" I am mortified to see that the young tree planted directly out our back door has been murdered by a swerving driver....on a Saturday night.
My blood is boiling as I walk out to assess the damage. There are tire tracks. And no curb. This has been a small point of contention with me ever since the road installation was complete. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have a new straight road that angles away from the building to help with water runoff in the winter. But, I'm confused as to why a curb wasn't installed. And what about speed bumps?
And a gate? Our newly completed road is no longer a dead-end into our parking garage. The road now wraps around the garage and connects with a neighboring street...in effect, making it a short cut for the neighborhood at large to more easily access the freeway. The result? A lot more traffic. Cars moving at faster speeds.
I am frustrated and spend much of the rest of my Sunday peering out at cars that pass by our window and wondering if they are responsible for the death outside my door.
On Monday, I hear the familiar sounds of construction trucks and am overjoyed to see what's coming...speed bumps! Could you ever imagine being so excited by such a thing? I am delighted to see what's going on:
This makes me so sad! Glad you're at least getting speed bumps.
