The culinary hotbed called Oakland

Plain and simple: we like to eat. And Oakland delivers.

Neighborhood farmer's markets...authentic taco trucks...hip local hangouts...sophisticated dining experiences...we've got 'em and more are on the way!

Since the new year began, we've been delighted to share some wonderful meals with great friends at some special downtown (or uptown if you want to be picky) gems including the "southern with a twist" Pican, the Caribbean Creole inspired Hibiscus, and Flora (I highly recommend the tequila cocktail named "Carter Beats the Devil").

Of course there are plenty of smaller local haunts, too...and our own loft which we designed so that we could cook more often!  I guess there are worse problems one could have...

Read this article to learn more about the latest openings, ones due to launch in the coming months, and a little history about what is fast becoming what some have termed the new Bay Area gourmet gulch.  YUMMY!
